Games of the Future 2025 - Abu Dhabi ADNOC - Bright GMBH
For the 20225 GoTF event I was part of a team delivering AR production to the broadcast. I was responsible for the video system taking feeds from broadcast, distributing to end points, and returning feeds to broadcast; as well as the control room video infrastructure. I was also part of the team responsible for the camera tracking, with two Stype redspy units and taking tracking data from two fly-cam systems operated on two of the competition stages.
I prepped the video systems before shipping to site, and was responsible for the functionality and maintaining the system throughout the competition, solving issues as they arose and making changes to suit both broadcast, and operational requirements. The system comprised 20 Unreal render nodes, 11 SP Grid control machines, two redspy camera tracking systems, five multiviewer systems, and an Analog Way Aquillon frame; as well as routing and genlock distribution to all dices and systems to maintain frame synchronisation across the entire production.
There was a further disguise based playback system for each of the ten competition stages, each taking feeds from broadcast, with servers placed remotely at each stages control position.
All operators were within a consolidated control area, with central network and video systems allowing connectivity and viewing of all relevant video signals for each stage. Each received a program feed and broadcast multiviewer, as well as aux inputs to virtual screens; these were all monitorable and switched through companion and streamdeck based control interfaces.
Tracking and control systems were managed through SP Grid, including camera calibration and alignments.
